Lawrence (Larry) Darrell Ames was born 22 October 1951 in Ogden, Utah to Ira Darrell Ames and Mary Shanna Mauchley Ames. He was raised in Clearfield, Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1969.
Larry served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1971 to 1972
Larry died in Bremerton , Washington on the 28th of February, 1992. He was residing in Bremerton Washington at the time of his death.

Larry was an incredibly close friend. We shared a love of music, especially Simon & Garfunkel. I recently found out that Larry died of ALS while living with his mother in Washington state, some 30 years ago.
Larry was a gentle soul, an artist at heart and by hand, I admired his talent and wish I could have shared it. We used to play war games in John Clowards basement, me and Larry, the German Navy, against John Cloward and John Pierce--those were the days! Can I really be 70 years old? Was it really 52 years ago that we graduated?
I miss you, Larry. I hope you finally found what you were looking for.

I agree Larry was a sweet guy. I went to Senior Prom with him and he treated me with true respect and kindness. It is too bad things didn't turn out exactly opposite, pretty sure he would have been a faithful trustworthy man.
