A Memorial Service honoring Clay will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 2:00 PM at The United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel, 2306 Sijan Dr, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado. Interment to follow.

Col(Ret) Clay Stewart, the number one graduate in class, passed away 5 May. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; and his four children, and 8 grandchildren. Clay and Nancy retired to Leadville, Colorado, to enjoy life in small town America after 27+ years of service in the Air Force. When he retired in 2000, he was Commander of the USSTRATCOM Joint Intelligence Center. Prior to commanding the JIC, he was the USSTRATCOM J2 (Director of Intelligence) from 1997-1999. At the Pentagon in 1992-1997, he served as the Executive Director of the Defense Policy Board for almost three years, after serving as the Military Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Requirements from Feb 1992 - Jul 1994. There will be a memorial service and interment at USAFA on 13 May.
